For most of the junior level students, it’s a common question that how to get accepted into a good college. Competition is now high in the education system so it has become pretty difficult to get accepted into a college; however, here are some tips for you.

Find out the colleges that suit you:
At first, you need to do some research yourself to find out what college you wish to attend. You should consider your options to figure this out. Do you want to far away from you home? Do you want to live at your campus? Or perhaps, you want to stay close to your home. Consider all of the options. In order to make decision, feel free to discuss with your parents, friends, teachers and school counselors.

Create a list of the colleges you are interested at:
Once you have done with the above, create a short list of colleges and visit their websites to learn some certain things. Find out their admission requirements, whether it allows online application or not, application fees and deadline. And finally choose the best college for you based on that information.

Does the college have a virtual campus?
Check it the college has virtual campus. If it has, then you can take a virtual tour of the college campus virtually so that you can get a great overall idea about the college. Most of the virtual college campus tours allow you to see even the dining areas.

Time to fill out the applications:
Once you have decided which college you want to apply, check if they offer online application. If they do not, visit their website and print the hard copy of the application. Remember you will be competing with thousands of brilliant students. Here are some customized tips that you should keep in mind while filling out the form:

• Handwriting should be legible and the form should not contain any misspelled word.
• Before you mail the application, get reviewed your application from someone else.
• Pay a close attention at the application due dates because this will help you to avoid rush.
• And finally before submitting, check again to makes that you have put all the requested information into the application form.

Quiz Bowl: Origin to Today

Quiz bowl, a game of questions and answers on all topic of human knowledge. Usually two teams play this game; each team contains four or five players. There’re a moderator and a buzzer system. Moderator reads the question loud and the team first plays the buzzer get the scope to answer the question. If the answer is correct then points get add. The team scores highest wins the game. Currently it’s the most widely played games in various educational institutions. Quiz Bowl is also acquainted as Academic League, Academic Challenge, Academic Bowl, Battle of Brains etc.

In 1953, quiz bowl competition starting to get its popularity when it was issued on radio in United States. From 1959 to 1970 quiz bowl competition was issued as TV show. But, somehow spectators lots attraction in it. College Campus Bowl Company Inc. (CBCI) revived the format in 1977 and they organized numerous competitions till 2008. Today’s, most of the college level competitions are organized by Academic Competition Federation or National Academic Quiz Tournaments. Academic Competition Federation (ACF) was formed in September 1990 and National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) in 1996.

From the very beginning, quiz bowl competition is running successfully among various institutions. In 21st August, final of ‘Team Up to Safety’ will take place in Mitchell organized by South Dakota Farmers Union. Students from Lennox, Wolsey-Wessington, Brookings, and Lyman high schools will participate in this final. Each team will be in single elimination format. Final will be held in South Dakota State University tent from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm local time.

Competition winner will be awarded in cash from South Dakota Farmers Union. This competition was aimed to think the young minds about safety when they’re working on a farm or ranch. Everyone will be benefited by the safety issues asked in this competition, if they remember it in practice.
